WHAT IS ALBERT THE ALIEN? ALBERT THE ALIEN is a sci-fi adventure series about the first foreign exchange student from another planet. The idea is to take things that we see in our everyday life and turn them into weird and wacky adventures.
Think Steven Universe meets Phineus and Ferb. Or a really good sci-fi Pixar movie.
This book will be a 152 page full color graphic novel, with stories by Trevor Mueller and art by Gabo!
THE BOOK IS ALMOST DONE. We're 90% of the way there. The art will be finished by May of this year. We've gotten the two previous volumes of ALBERT THE ALIEN out on time, and we're on pace to do it again this year!
With your help, Gabo and I can afford to pay for the printing of the book and get it in reader's hands. First yours, and then tomorrow...the WORLD'S!
WHAT HAPPENS IN VOLUME 3? ALBERT THE ALIEN is the first foreign exchange student from another planet...and he's in big trouble!
After having been on Earth for several months, Albert is still causing havoc in the most hilarious and entertaining ways. A trip to the city space program turns into an adventure when Albert launches himself into space. A sleepover turns into a nightmare when he transports his friends into an online video game. And his first Halloween has Albert turning trick or treaters into the monsters they dressed up as.
But secrets also abound in Albert's world. His home stay family may not have told him the truth about first contact with aliens. And their family secrets may hold the key to the mysterious alien door in the basement of the school!
STRETCH GOALS: Making comics is a team effort, and we want to reward the most powerful part of our team: YOU! When we bust past these stretch goal milestones, that lets us offer more rewards to thank you!
Check out some of the exciting rewards all backers could benefit from if we hit these milestones!
STRETCH GOAL 1: $8,000 Everyone loves more story, and we want to give it to you. We have over 30 pages of bonus stories finished and ready to be included in this collection from guest artists like Kevin Harrell, Kasey Williams, Rose McClain, Jacob Halton, Ashley Erickson, Spitfire, and more! This will be available to anyone who orders a physical or digital copy of the book.
STRETCH GOAL 2: $10,000 Reading sound like too much work for you? Let us do the reading for you (and in those fancy voices like Mom used to do)! At this level, we'll turn CHAPTER 1 into an audio or video file and we'll read it to you, performing the characters. We'll also partner with special guest actors from CHANNEL AWESOME! This will be available to all reward tiers.
STRETCH GOAL 3: $12,000 Want to know how we made this book? Series creators Trevor and Gabo will make an audio commentary of VOLUME 3 (in MP3 format), available to all reward tiers. We'll do a page-by-page deconstruction of the story, the art, and provide you with process, insights, and in-jokes! This will be made available to all reward tiers.
STRETCH GOAL 4: $15,000 Wow, you really like having stories read to you! Well, we love reading to you, too (and in those fancy voices like Mom used to do)! At this level, we'll turn VOLUMES 1-3 into an audio or video file and we'll read it to you, performing the characters. We'll also partner with special guest actors from CHANNEL AWESOME! This will be available to all reward tiers.
ADD ONS: WANT TO ADD MORE ITEMS TO YOUR PLEDGE?
Add on's will be made available in the survey, after the Kickstarter has successfully funded. You'll be able to to add things like more copies of books, multiple volumes, digital editions, etc. Basically, anything that isn't a limited quantity will be made available.
We will be expanding the add on's throughout the campaign, so make sure you check back often.

Latest Updates from Our Project:
The book is finished!

Hey guys, sorry for the delays in updates. I went silent so I could focus on putting the book together. I have some great news - we have so much bonus content that I don't want to push back to the next book, so we're extending the page count of the book to a full 200 pages!
This is going to include the full adventure, and about 50 pages of bonus stories from guest artists. Unlike previous volumes of Albert the Alien, we have a full 150 page adventure - which is how large the previous books have been.
I know extending the book to 200 pages was a stretch goal we didn't hit, but hey - I don't think anyone would be opposed to more content, and I'm working with the printer to minimize the cost difference (which I will absorb).
Next steps: we share the files with the printer, who will check them (we call this QA, or Quality Assurance). Once they green light the files, they will send to the printer in Taiwan, who will print and ship the thing back to us.
More announcements coming soon!

I had wanted to post an update about this while the campaign was live, but unfortunately we started the pin-making process a little too late for that. But, I'm happy to announce our Kickstarter-exclusive pins have arrived in the mail!
These 1.25 inch enamil pins were available during the campaign, and will also be available for pre-order during the BackerKit survey we're going to be sending out in the next week. If you missed out on this awesome reward, but would like to get one, they will be available for $10.

$400 more to go in 48 hours - thunderclap it

– Tue, Mar 14, 2017 at 09:29:02 AM
The last week has been incredible. We've hit 93% of our funding goal, despite my being sick last week and not being able to promote the campaign as well. This means you guys have all really chipped in to help make this project happen, and for that I am eternally grateful.
We're so close to our goal that we can taste it! Only $400 more to go, and 48 hours left to get it. And we need your help with one last thing:
Gabo found a site called Thunderclap. The site stores a post from us, and leverages social media pages to send out a message at the same time across - specifically for people who offer to pledge on Thunderclap.
If you go to the below link, and click on which social media channel you would like to share the post on (Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr), on March 14 it will release the post from everyone at the same time.
What will this do for us? It'll get the word out one last time - on the final full day of the campaign - and let everyone know now is the time to support this project to put us over the goal line.
Thanks so much for your support, and I look forward to congratulating everyone in 48 hours on another successfully funded campaign!
Last full week - and new reward tier!
– Mon, Mar 06, 2017 at 08:42:56 AM
To celebrate the last full week (we still have some days the next week, too) of our Kickstarter, we're opening up a new exclusive reward tier for a 1.25 inch enamil pin featuring your favorite student from the stars!
This pin, a Kickstarter exclusive, will be made out of a soft enamil, and have a metal clutch for superior support and durability. If you order it, it also comes with a copy of the volume 3 book in print.
Want a pin but already pledged at a different level? Don't worry - we'll make it available as an add on during the survey process.
Thank you so much for your support, and we're looking forward to hitting our goal in the next 11 days! Onward and upward!
